Architecture has been around human’s ever since the beginning of human civilization. It goes back all the way to the days when once we were the prey seeking safety. With the human evolution and the development civilization it allowed the standardization of architecture. Such as housing and public buildings showed the same language and shapes which conditions us to seek comfort in familiar things and discriminate the different. It is also the normalization of such which creates an illusion of what is normal in society which the majority chooses. However, this majority does not mean by their number but rather their power to allocate resources as those who control the resources are the ones to create hierarchy which determines the quality and the quantity of resources which are limited in a society. These standardizations can be searched through our architecture, such as stairs which are only useable for those who are comfortable on their legs but someone with a wheelchair might not be able to access such space. I wanted to place the school at the center of the city to signify its importance in creating an equitable world through education and how as architects we must think about the social impact that will come out of your language. These allocation of spaces for people cause them to exaggerate and emphasize disability and label it as not normal. I believe architects must create structure which allocates these resources for those who we must past down to such as the younger generations.
